Method Man Blames Reposession On His Weed Habit

Despite recent reports that the rapper is so broke that his 2008 Lincoln Navigator was repossessed to pay back taxes, Method Man insists his cash flow is just fine. In fact, he says, his penchant for marijuana is to blame for the mishap.

Citing the Wu Tang member for being $52,503 in arrears on his personal income taxes, the state Department of Taxation showed up at the Staten Island native’s home at 6 a.m. March 19 with “four NYPD cops and the repo team,” Meth told us. “I knew why they were there. It wasn’t like ‘Oh my God! Noo!! Don’t take it!’ like it is on that TV show [Operation Repo]. I was half-dressed, and it was so early that I just said, ‘Okay, you’re taking the truck. ... Aight.’”

The back story, according to the rapper, is simple.

“Myself, I’m a pothead,” he said on the set of a video shoot for his new album, Blackout 2, with Redman. “It’s no secret. Everyone knows that. I go on the road and forget everything else. Sure, [the tax department] sent letters to my house saying, ‘We need this money.’ They started sending them in 2002.

Here it is, 2009, and I never paid this s— because I don’t think like that!”

“I could have easily just written them a check for whatever amount, but no — I waited until they knocked on this door and were like, ‘We got your truck and we outta here,’ ” he laughed.

“Now I’m thinking we’ve gotta get our truck back, which means I have to get all my paperwork together,” the rapper continued. “That means days of going through mail, ’cause I got mail like woah.

"I’ve found checks from 2005 that have never been opened yet. And we’re talking a significant amount of money! But I never opened [the tax department’s] letters ... so this is how the tax man came to Meth’s house and took his truck. Not because I was broke! I got plenty of money!”

When we referenced the famous Afroman song “Because I Got High,” Method Man just laughed. “Exactly!” he said. “Because I got high, I forgot to pay. It was stupid. I’m an idiot for that.”

Kind of Old school banger

This one from a fly by night mc by the name of Geda K way back when (in my guessing tho around '99/2000?), however an early production from Kanye West on a Rocafella mixtape.

Blatantly Blunt radio #16. 23 March

Here's the audio from the show on Monday. Was a good comeback show after I was away for a few weeks despite no MCs passing thru this week (2nd time in the show's history!), but don't fret as the bases are loaded for the next few weeks so expect some big names coming up in the coming weeks. You'll notice I've split the show up into 2 parts as i've noticed the audio sounds like it's on a come down when theres 2 hrs in 1 file!

Fat Joe reckons he's the prince of Africa.. hahaha

Fat Joe recently spoke about his forthcoming album Jealous Ones Still Envy 2 along with his and Akon’s status as rap royalty in Africa.

Despite being criticized for his explicit N-word usage in songs and interviews, Joey Crack addressed the respect he receives and why he filmed his music video “One” from Africa.

“Africa, what a lovely place,” Joe said in an interview. “The video looks beautiful. Akon, it was an honor to work with him. We’ve been friends for years and featured on tracks together. We finally got our own record together. He’s the King of Africa. I’m the Prince of Africa. I get nothing but love from Africa. The people are amazing. It was a natural thing for me and ‘Kon to get together and make a song.”

Joe has discussed the heat he’s received in the past for being a Puerto Rican artist using the racially-targeted N-word, most notably on his song “The Fugitive.”

“I’m with Khaled on that speedy boat,” Joe raps, “When it comes to latin emcees there’s none bigga/ Now who’s gonna tell me that I can’t say n*gga/ N*gga n*gga n*gga n*gga n*gga b*tch h*e/ ‘Cause some independent ladies yeah they make a lotta dough/ So they nothin’ but love and respect from Fat Joe.”

While Joe’s album has been pushed back to May 19, the Bronx, New York emcee promises a strong release.

“I’ve just been making that hit mania,” Joe said in an interview. “It just feels big. My first album Jealous Ones Still Envy was my biggest album and I haven’t did no album to this day that I felt I made music as big as that. So I just went hit mania on this one right here. It feels great.”

His upcoming solo project will feature a diverse grouping of artists and producers.

Joe’s new project will have guest appearances by Ron Browz, Fabolous, Lil’ Kim, T-Pain, Lil’ Wayne, Raekwon, Akon along with production from Jim Jonsin, The Incredibles and The Street Runners. Cuts from the album include “One” and “Winding On Me.”
