At least his marketing's still funny

Mock infomercial for take 2 (or 3 perhaps?) of Eminem's comeback album; 'Recovery'. I've only heard a couple tracks off this but I'm hoping it puts Relapse to shame and doesn't contain too much winey singing over rock tracks with commercial singers, melancholy and quasi-angry rants about his former love of 'prescription' drugs. Come on Marshall, bring it back to the good times!!!

Grime at Glastonbury

Thanks to the BBC Introducing stage at Glasto this year a few grime artists gained some invaluable promotion! Altho this is BBC introducing, these guys are considered beyond 'up and coming' within their scene so don't get it twisted, a lot of hard work and persistence got P Money, Lady Leshurr and Ms Darks (chek my interview with her here) to where they are!

Video: OLOS (TOP RECORDS) "TAKE 2 SIPS"

Great hedonistic track here from Olos, an artist I've been rating since him and the crew dropped bars on my urbanfmtv.com show a while back. Big track, big beat, and big video!! Definitly an artist that deserves some shine (no pun intended) !

Audio: Phil Ade & Raheem Devaughn - "Out Your Clothes"

Take a listen. Especially if you like Outkast. This is another one from a US rapper that I'd not heard of but I listen to almost everything I get sent. Check for this single on Phil Ade's upcoming project The Letterman hosted by ex AMG member Don Cannon.

Video: J. Cole - Who Dat

The best tune I've heard so far from J. Cole who is one of the few new US MCs that's really impressing me right now... Listen and learn, this is how to make intelligent street hip hop!! Expect big things from this guy, with his signing to Jay-Z's Roc Nation Cole's gonna be pushed HARD, and rightly so! I expect levels somewhere near Kanye 's buzz when the album drops.

There goes another talented rapper...

Check this article I found about Louisana rapper Lil Boosie who was one of the biggest potentials before he went to the big house a little while back. This is the latest on him, and I can't see him coming out anytime soon.. Damn.

Lil Boosie was indicted on charge of 1st degree murder by a East Baton Rouge Parish grand jury early evening Thursday for the October 2009 shooting murder of Terry Boyd.

According to the district attorney, Lil Boosie may receive the death penalty according to a district attorney. The rap star is already incarcerated at Dixon Correctional Institute.

Prosecutors also indicted Lil Boosie of conspiring with a girlfriend, another inmate and a former correctional officer of smuggling in synthetic marijuana, marijuana pills and codeine into the prison. Six other men have also been indicted for their involvement in the murder of Boyd.

Below is a summary of all the charge that Boosie faces and prosecutors believe he may have been involved in at least five other slayings:

• 1st Degree Murder of Terry Boyd, 35, shot to death inside his residence at 16837 Vermillion Drive on 10/21/09. The shots were fired from outside home through a window.

• 3 counts PWITD Narcotics (Schedule II-Codeine, Schedule I-Ecstacy and Schedule I-Marijuana)

• 3 counts Conspiracy to commit PWITD Narcotics

• 2 counts Conspiracy to Introduce Contraband into a Penal Institution

Check this track to here a good example of what he can come with!

Video: P Money freestyle on Westwood 1Xtra

Cheeeez and bread. That's all that can be said.

Video: LIL JON - MACHUKA (feat. Mulher Filé & Mr Catra)

This track is yet another example of how Lil Jon is one of the most diverse and creative artists in the music scene over the last decade. This track's strictly built for the (strip) clubs but can be appreciated anywhere. Altho he didn't produce this one it is consistent of what you'd expect to hear from the king of crunk. Look out for his new LP 'Crunk Rock' which has been in the pipeline since his last mammoth of an album Crunk Juice was released 5 years ago....

Audio: Gilbere Forte' - My Time ft. STS

I really like this track right here. Never heard of the artist but for me that's all more of a reason to listen! Track slightly reminds me of a track from the Clipse. The beats hot and the MCs deliver.
Gilbere Forte' - My Time ft. STS

Video: Doller Da Dustman - Take Em' Out Da Game [HD]

I'm really feelin Dollar's latest release; he's switched up his flow to a more simple rhyme pattern and channelled his content to his experiences as a shotter, and making what's known as 'Trap music' (similar to what the likes of Jeezy and TI came in to the game with). He's still got that edgy voice and gritty delivery but everything seems more smoothed out as in the past I think his content let him down a bit.
This video taken from the free download album - 'From a hustler 2 my hustlers' and "THE Art of Rhyming CD which is coming soon! Look out for Dollar!

Video: DRAKE STAN BREAKS DOWN IN TEARS AFTER MEETING HIM

I have to say I've not seen as much of a frenzy for a rapper since the likes of Eminem or Lil Wayne. I've not heard the album (yet) but I'm sure it's hot! Gotta have respect for how Drake's come in the game (relatively quickly) and essentially has dominated with a 'clean' content matter partnered with substantial flow and delivery of course with the right backing (Wayne & Baby). That's the formula of a great rapper with a mainstream customer base, but will he be as big in 5-10 yrs time ? Not so sure.
Shoutout to Semtex on this 1!

Download: Sway - Blow The Whistle (Video Link)

New Sway Freestyle 'Blow The Whistle' . I'm really feeling this one. The beat sounds very reminiscent of a Lil Jon track and Sway comes with some real lyricism with wit and humour, kinda like how he was when he came in the game circa 2002/3. Good to hear he's back....

Show n Prove provide the production here as the South London rapper and ex-Poisonous Poet drops some bars on the event on everyone's lips. Download: Diddy - Hello, Good Morning (TeamUK Remix) (feat. Tinie Tempah & Tinchy Stryder

When this collaboration was announced a little while back it made huge news and the track's finally surfaced so check it out decide who came out on top... Personally I think Tinchy outshone Tinie!

Lowkey Vs Chipmunk AKA George Galloway Vs LL Cool J

Lowkeys tactics to get fame isnt just by attending rallies of resistance but also by making threats to 19 year old pop star Chipmunk who's a sitting duck to all types of criticism... maybe this will increase Lowkey's fanbase to even more people fed up with the system. VIVA LA REVOLUTION (I think)... I have respect and hate for both these artists by the way. I don't like the way Chipmunk's sold out, considering his previous material was SO on point (listen to 'League of my own' for proof) and I respect Lowkey's lyrical ability but his content is a bit samey and reeks of Immortal Technique syndrome...

Tinchy inks deal with Roc Nation

Tinchy Stryder and his management have signed a deal with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation company.

The Number 1 rapper reportedly met Jigga in Manchester just yesterday to ink the big money deal.

Tinchy and his managers will apparently now run ‘Takeover Roc Nation’ in Europe, signing new artists and working with Sony Music and Live Nation.

Stryder himself will still be signed to Island/ Universal. The star hinted at the news yesterday writing on Twitter: “Just finalised a deal with powerful men. Artists holla at me!”

He also reportedly met with Beyonce and Drake as Jay-Z played the Manchester MEN venue.

Source: MTV

Definitely a strong look for both parties here, I've always been one to deny Tinchy's being a sell out, just listen to his latest mixtape Before the Storm, which sees him staying true to his roots... Jigga man's not doing badly for himself either...

My interview with Ny for MTV

North London’s Nyomi Gray, known to many under the name NY, is regarded by most as the first lady of R&G (Rhythm & Grime) and made a huge impact with her debut mixtape in 2006 ‘Split Endz Volume 1’. I spoke to her for MTV's The Wrap Up about her new single, touring, and her thoughts on the current grime scene…

The Wrap Up: Apart from the new track ‘Born Yesterday,' what’s been going on in NY’s world for the last few months?

NY: I've just been doing shows and appeared on the new DJ Ironik track which will be on his forthcoming album. I've also been busy in studio recording my debut album. There’s no release date as yet, but will be around the end of 2010 or start of 2011.

TWU: How did you hook up with Gil for the new track?
NY: He knew my dad when I was six or seven. My dad lives abroad now and had a reunion with old mates a short while back. I was there and got chatting with him and we ended up working together that way. We got three tracks recorded over the last few weeks which are all potentially on the album.

TWU: Did you feel under pressure working with him considering he'd worked with names such as Michael Jackson and Amy Winehouse?
NY: No, I didn't feel any pressure, it was a natural process. There were no expectations, as I already knew him, so it was really chilled and it felt relaxed. We spent a lot of time joking about and talking about my dad.

Check the rest of the interview here!

Audio: Klashnekoff - Klash Anthem Feat D.Ablo

New joint off Klashnekoffs album 'Back To the Sagas' called the 'Klash Anthem'. and features D.Ablo who's part of the 2nd generation of artists in Terra Firma...
Got to say it's good to have Klashnekoff back on the scene, definitly is an influence to a lot of grime, UK hip hop and road rap artists today. It's a shame that not enough people don't know his stuff beyond the UK anthem 'murda' but he's definitely got a loyal fan base that'll welcome his return...

Video - B.o.B - Bet I ft. T.I. & Playboy Tre

This vid may be a month old but it's certainly overdue for a classic quality southern rap tune. The video itself is hot but the track's predominantly based on lyrics over hype. At the same time the video's strong but the chorus lets it down a little.
B.O.B could well be the MVP of the 2010 hip hop scene. First heard him on the uplifting I'll Be In The Sky which has strong air of a Stevie Wonder meets Andre 3000 combo despite him claiming not to have been influenced by the fellow Atlanta rapper!
